Whether you’re starting your uni journey or you’ve just graduated from halls to proper house-living, we’re genuinely buzzing to have you with us. At Student Housing, we’re all former students ourselves, so we know exactly what the start of term feels like: exciting, slightly chaotic, and possibly involving way too many extension leads.
Let’s help you settle in—here’s everything you need to know to kick off your tenancy, make the most of your new place, and fall in love with Lincoln.
Seven days ago, the previous tenants handed in their keys, and since then, our team’s been busy cleaning, repairing, and checking everything from lightbulbs to locks. If we’ve accidentally missed something, please don’t sit in silence; report it through our online maintenance form. Add photos or videos if you can!
Once you submit a report, our team will create a “trouble ticket” (we know, it sounds dramatic), notify your housemates, and assign a trusted contractor. You’ll get a photo of who’s attending—so no awkward “who are you?” moments when they show up. And don’t worry, they already have a key—you won’t be stuck waiting in all day.
During the busy September rush, we prioritise by urgency. On average, issues are fixed within 24 hours, though some may take up to 14 days depending on complexity.

In an emergency (like a flood, fire, or something electrical going rogue), call us on 01522 410 646.
During office hours, you’ll get straight through to the team. Out of hours? Your call is forwarded to our emergency line and we’ll get someone to you—fast.
Let’s talk decorating. Your space should feel like yours—but landlords really don’t vibe with Blu Tack or 3M tabs on freshly painted walls. They leave marks that could cost up to £100 per wall to repaint. Ouch.
We recommend:
Using the noticeboards provided
Hanging things on the back of doors or furniture with poster tape
Fairy lights, cushions, throws—instant atmosphere, zero damage!
If you’re unsure, drop us a message first—we’re always happy to advise.
We get it. Sometimes you move into a house, instantly gel with your housemates, and think: This is it. We peaked.
If you want to stay for another year, you’ve got first dibs until October 21st. That means nobody else can book your house before you do.

Get a bike – Lincoln’s small but hilly, and cycling from West Parade to the uni is a rite of passage.
South Common is your go-to for a chill picnic, quick dog spot, or recovery walk after a night out at Bierkeller.
Wilkos may be gone, but Home Bargains is still your housemate-saving hero.
